“At practice, I heard someone say I haven’t been to a bowl game in eight years. I think guaranteeing the fans one more game, possibly more, being in the playoffs would mean a lot to this fan base. They went through a lot and were very loyal to everyone. It would mean a lot to get to a bowl game. I think just the goal of trying to win this week and this week only and get six wins.”

“I think seeing the pitch. The defensive coverage has changed post and pre-snap, and just the communication between our players and coaches. There were many adjustments. There have been a lot of things in motion since the first game and I’m really excited about where we are now.”

“I think Thomas (Fidone) has always been there for us. The emphasis was always on getting the ball. See when he gets the ball in his hands, he goes and makes plays. I’m proud of Thomas, he’s been through a lot in his college career with ACL and a lot of ups and downs for him. He just stayed the course and grinds on. Trying to see the future is later and it paid off.”

Defensive lineman Ty Robinson on the championship mentality

“I think the standard was set even higher on Saturday. What’s great is that everyone can now see that standard. Everyone knows what it takes during the week and in practice to get to that kind of game readiness. Offensive coaches, this is the first time they’ve come to our coaches saying ‘these defensive guys on the scout team were flying today and making plays and being aggressive and making them better.’ Same thing, our scouting offense has done a great job all year of preparing us. I think that’s why we were pretty dominant on defense. We just have to continue to exceed that standard every practice and every day.”

“The Pac-12 is good football. When I was breaking it down in high school, they were more of a passing league. Their offense, they have good running backs, good tight ends, they have a good front. Their QBs are both mobile and can throw the ball, they also have great vision. I am excited to delve further. This morning we got to find out some of their trends and start digging into them. That’s what today will be about, let’s learn a little more.”

“It was a great opportunity, just being able to work on things and get better every week and get better with the unit and the o-line group. It was a great opportunity for me.”

“Those older guys have been a big help to me since I got here. They’re basically like older brothers to me — I can just fall on them and their leadership and follow the standard they’ve set here before.”

Defensive Back Ceyair Wright on UCLA

“They are a fundamentally solid team. They have a good quarterback and receivers. The runs should be a great test for us. I’m excited to compete against them. I grew up playing against a lot of teams. It’s a good test for our team.”

“I think there is always room for improvement. Three-pass games, we always want to eliminate them. We were against good players, but we also have good players. I know we can compete with those beyond us. I think rather than being a confidence booster, it’s more just a confirmation of what we’re capable of.”
