Two teenagers charged after man and woman ‘attacked and robbed’ in Edinburgh

Two teenagers have been charged in connection with the alleged aggravated assault and robbery of a man and a woman on Monday.

A 50-year-old man and a 32-year-old woman were on the pedestrian crossing at the junction of Leith Street and Princes Street in Edinburgh at around 10pm on October 28 when they were apparently targeted at random by a group of people.

Both were injured and taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The suspects, believed to be aged between 14 and 20, fled towards St James Quarter and Multrees Walk.

The police charged two 15-year-old boys in connection with the incident. An investigation is still ongoing as detectives confirm they are following positive lines of inquiry.

Detective Sergeant Steven Gray said: “We would like to thank the many members of the public who have supported our investigation so far and we continue to appeal for information as inquiries remain ongoing.
