What can metro Phoenix expect for November weather?

PHOENIX (AZ Family) — What can we expect for the weather in November this year? Before answering that question, let’s first look at what usually happens in November.

November is a month of change; it often starts much differently than it ends! See normal temperatures in Phoenix on November 1st compared to November 30th. Notice how the high temperature drops from 80 to 70 and the low temperature from 50 to 40.

What about the rain? November normally gets 0.57 inches of rain in Phoenix, but there have been plenty of Novembers with no rain at all. There were also some wet and wet Novembers. In 1905, November had 3.61 inches of precipitation; that must have made for some very wet turkeys!

As for November’s outlook, the first half of the month may be cooler and slightly wetter. One reason for this is the weather disturbances arriving late this weekend into early next week. It will likely bring temperatures back into the 70s, which is below normal, and could produce some Valley showers (and mountain rain or snow). However, there is uncertainty as to how long those cooler temperatures will remain.

The second half of November is trending around normal, even slightly above normal for temperatures. But of course, forecasts that go several weeks into the future almost always have a high degree of uncertainty, so stay tuned for updates!
