GURLEY, Ala. (WHNT) — The Madison County Sheriff’s Office says so following an investigationthe death of a woman when she was hit by a car on Monday is believed to be accidental.

The death investigation began after deputies responded to an incident in the 1000 block of Brownboro Road in Gurley Monday night and encountered a woman, her husband and daughter.

Authorities are investigating the fatal stabbing outside Boaz Western Sizzlin

“The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim suffered from mental health issues, specifically a manic episode, and believed that her husband and daughter were conspiring against her,” the sheriff’s office said.

The victim also told deputies that her cellular devices were broken into.

The husband and daughter were able to escape the house and get into a vehicle. As they were leaving, MCSO said the victim was struck by the vehicle and died from his injuries.

“While the incident remains under investigation and the circumstances surrounding the fatal confrontation are being thoroughly examined, the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident may determine this to be an accidental death,” MCSO added.
