Trump is one step away from victory in three swing states won by Biden in 2020

New polls show Donald Trump has a chance reverse three states Joe Biden won in 2020.

If that scenario happens, the Republican nominee could have 255 electoral voteswhich means he could win the presidency by wresting yet another swing state from Kamala Harris.

In Pennsylvania, according to a CBS-YouGov poll of 1,273 registered voters, Trump and Harris are tied at 49 percent each, with the vice president leading independents 50 percent to 46 percent. (But 12% of non-Trump independents say they might still vote for him, while 4% of non-Harris Indian voters say the same.)

Voters say they’re stuck on their choices: 95 percent of Harris supporters rule out changing their minds between now and Election Day, and 94 percent of those who back the former president vow they won’t ditch Trump.

Issues playing heavily in Trump’s favor include the economy, considered “major” by 81 percent of those polled, and inflation, a top concern by 74 percent of respondents.

Only 35% of those surveyed say the economy is at least “fairly good” – 62% say it’s “fairly bad” or worse.

Among independents, the division is even more pronounced: 31% positive, 65% negative.

A plurality of voters (46%) say Trump’s policies would make them “better off” financially, with 39% saying they would be worse off. By contrast, Harris is upside down: 26% say they would be better off under Kamalanomics, while 45% worry they would be worse off.

While CBS sees a heat in Pennsylvania, which Biden won by 1.17 points four years ago, CNN’s latest poll predicts a slim split between two southwestern battlegrounds.

In race for 11 electoral votes in Arizonahis poll predicts Harris to win between 48% and 47%, a seismic shift from the 49% to 44% lead Trump held the last time he was in the field in August — but it’s still a close contest of error.

In Nevada, it’s the other way around. An earlier 1-point lead for Harris turned in CNN’s model into a single-digit lead for The Donald, which would put a lead. half a dozen electoral votes in his column if you keep.

In both states, only 8% say they are willing to change their minds. But their motivations differ depending on who they support.

One constant on both battlefields: Trump voters are voting for their man, while many Harris supporters are voting for protest. While 82% of Trump voters in Nevada and 77% of Arizonans say their vote is specifically for Trump, only 62% of Harris voters in Arizona and 57% of Nevadans say the same.

In 2020, Biden won by more than 3 points in Nevada and 0.3 in Arizona. This time, both appear to be tipable in the GOP column.
