Colts add CB to practice squad and multiple other moves

The Indianapolis Colts added a cornerback to the practice squad along with two other moves that resulted in three corresponding cuts.

Tuesday afternoon, the the Colts announce that they signed cornerback Tre Flowers to the practice squad, reinstated quarterback Jason Bean to the practice squad after missing time with injury and brought back Evan Hull.

To make room for those three additions, Indianapolis released defensive tackle Josiah Bronson, wide receiver Ethan Fernea and cornerback Kelvin Joseph.

Flowers, a former fifth-round pick in 2018 by Seattle, is an experienced player who has appeared in 94 games. He most recently spent some time with Jacksonville this season and was with Atlanta in 2023, where he played 200 defensive snaps.

In that 2023 season, Flowers allowed 10 receptions on 14 targets for 17.7 yards per catch with one pass. For his career, he has given up a 68 percent completion rate, allowed 13.0 yards per catch, with four interceptions, 16 pass breakups and a 106.9 passer rating when targeted.

Meanwhile, Bean was placed on the practice squad’s disabled list on September 24 with an ankle injury.

The Colts signed Bean following April’s draft as an undrafted rookie, who finished his college career at Kansas. During his final collegiate season, Bean threw for 18 touchdowns, completed 62 percent of his passes and averaged an impressive 10.7 yards per pass.

Hull was released from the 53-man roster on Saturday with Jonathan Taylor back to health. He was previously on the practice squad before being signed to the active roster before the Tennessee game.

Hull played a snap offensively in Week 7 against Miami. A fifth-round pick in 2023, Hull missed most of his rookie year with a knee injury. He came into the NFL as a very experienced backfield pass-catcher.

The Colts’ practice squad is currently at capacity after this series of moves.
