Clemson WR at Miss Louisville Game

Clemson will be without that wide receiver for Saturday’s game against Louisville.

Sophomore Tyler Brown, returning from an ankle injury, will be out against the Cardinals, according to head coach Dabo Swinney.

“He’s not going to be ready this week,” Swinney said during Tuesday’s weekly press conference. “He’s still weekly, but he’s not ready to make it day-to-day yet. He’s week-to-week.”

Swinney added that Brown has improved from ankle surgery on the ropes.

“He’s made a lot of progress,” Swinney said. “He had rope surgery and I saw him with his scooter and I saw him with crutches and I saw him with a cane and now he has none of that. So it gets better. It just keeps getting better.”

Brown missed Clemson’s last two games against Virginia and Wake Forest. The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder has five catches for 30 yards in the four games he’s played this season.

Last season, the explosive wide receiver from Greenville earned ESPN Freshman All-American status after leading Clemson in receptions (52) and receiving yards (531), becoming just the fifth Tiger since 2010 to record 50 catches in a freshman season.
