A York City man was sentenced Monday in connection with the attempted murder of a woman and her son in 2022.

Isaac Ramos-Perez, 46, received 20 to 40 years in prison for each of the two attempted-murder charges he was convicted of, which will run consecutively, according to the filings the court.

Ramos-Perez also received 7 to 14 years for each of the two aggravated assault charges he was convicted of, which will run concurrently with the attempted murder charges.

He was also sentenced to 6 to 12 years in prison for a burglary charge related to the case, as well as 2 to 5 years for possession of a prohibited firearm.

The firearms charge will run consecutively with one of the attempted murder sentences, while the burglary charge will run consecutively with one of the aggravated assault charges.

Ramos-Perez was credited with 628 days served on each of the six counts for which he received the sentence.

York City police said Ramos-Perez shot a 44-year-old woman and her 24-year-old son multiple times during a confrontation at a home in the 400 block of West Philadelphia Street in late December 2022.

They may have broken into the home because investigators found a pry bar and a screwdriver near an open back window, charging documents state.

Once inside the home, Ramos-Perez threatened the woman with a gun. He tried to force her into the basement, but the woman’s son intervened and tried to remove Ramos-Perez from the home, according to police in charging documents.

The gun then fired, and the woman and her son were seriously injured, police said.
