Police were at the scene on the R102 where the incident happened on Tuesday morning.

IPPS spokesman Sam Meyrick says they responded to reports of a shooting in the area, adding that witnesses spoke to emergency personnel about what happened.

“A woman walking along the R102 was hit by a driver who, after colliding with another vehicle, turned to shoot the woman before fleeing. Unfortunately, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The SAPS, who attended the scene, will investigate the matter further.”
