Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah, the coordinators of the Student Anti-Discrimination Movement, have decided to drop their writ seeking court directives to prevent 11 parties, including the Awami League, from carrying out political activities.

At the same time, it was announced that they will not continue with another letter questioning the legitimacy of the last three parliamentary elections (10, 11 and 12).

The two mandates were listed at numbers 208 and 209 on the High Court bench of Justice Fatema Najib and Justice Shikdar Mahmudur Raji this morning (October 29).

As the court proceedings began in the morning, the petitioners’ lawyer, Ahsanul Karim, informed the court that his clients would not proceed with the two papers.

Later, the court ordered the documents to be removed from the list.
