DELAWARE COUNTY, NY (WIVT/WBGH) – A man and a woman are facing attempted murder charges in Delaware County.

District Attorney Shawn Smith announced that a Delaware County Grand Jury returned an eight-count indictment against Robert Trago Jr. and Avahahavah Krajewski on October 24.

Trago allegedly shot a 32-year-old man in the upper arm in Hancock on Sept. 4, according to New York State Police. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Count one of the indictment charges Trago with attempted second-degree murder, a Class B violent crime. Trago is alleged to have shot another person with intent to cause his death in Hancock on September 4. If convicted, he faces up to 25 years in state prison.

Count two of the indictment charges Trago with criminal use of a firearm in the first degree, a Class B violent felony. Trago is alleged to have committed the attempted murder while in possession of a deadly weapon. If convicted of that charge, he faces up to 25 years in state prison.

Count three of the indictment charges Trago with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class A misdemeanor. Trago allegedly possessed a loaded handgun in Middletown on Sept. 4.

Count four of the indictment charges Krajewski with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class A misdemeanor. Krajewki allegedly possessed a loaded handgun in Middletown on Sept. 4.

Count five of the indictment charges Trago with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class D misdemeanor. He allegedly had three loaded handguns in his home on Sept. 4. If convicted, he faces up to 7 years in state prison.

Count six of the indictment charges Krajewski with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a Class D violent crime. She allegedly had three loaded handguns in her home on September 4. If convicted, she faces up to 7 years in state prison.

Count seven of the indictment charges Trago with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a Class C misdemeanor. Trago allegedly possessed over half an ounce of methamphetamine on September 4. If convicted, he faces up to 5 1/2 years in state prison.

Count eight of the indictment charges Krajewski with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a Class C misdemeanor. Krajewski allegedly possessed more than half an ounce of methamphetamine on September 4. If convicted, she faces up to 5 1/2 years in state prison.

Smith thanked the New York State Police and several investigators for their work on the case.
