Woodbridge woman charged with fourth DUI after Stafford County traffic incident

STAFFORD, Va. – A Woodbridge woman was arrested Friday night for her fourth DUI offense after a series of erratic maneuvers on Interstate 95 prompted a call to local authorities. The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to the incident near Exit 140, which led to the arrest of 48-year-old Blanca Azucena Herrera Argueta.

According to law enforcement, a call came in around 11:50 pm Friday night reporting that a Toyota was swerving into traffic and nearly causing multiple collisions while traveling southbound on I-95. The caller indicated the vehicle exited the highway and continued onto Wonder Road where Deputy CA Osborne located the car.

When approached, Herrera Argueta showed signs of intoxication, including glassy eyes and a noticeable odor of alcohol, according to the report. Herrera initially claimed her cousin was driving, but that the individual “disappeared” before the deputy arrived. After the request was denied, Deputy Osborne continued with field sobriety tests.

Following the roadside investigation, Herrera Argueta was taken into custody and transported to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office for a blood test. There, the sheriff’s office reported that Herrera Argueta resisted the procedure by “rolling on the floor” in an attempt to delay the process. She was later transferred to the Rappahannock Regional Jail.

Herrera Argueta faces multiple charges, including driving under the influence – fourth offense in ten years, second offense refusal to submit to a test, obstruction of justice, driving after license loss and driving while revoked. She is being held without bail at the regional jail.
