Trump’s Jewish surrogate refused to speak at Tucker’s rally

The former president of Donald Trump Sunday night’s rally in New York made headlines for all the wrong reasons after a comedian made vulgar and racist jokes about migrants, Puerto Rico, black Americans, Palestinians and Jews.

It was Monday reported by Jewish Insider that at least one pro-Trump activist and campaign surrogate, Shabbos Kestenbaum, boycotted the rally because of his concerns about its lineup β€” specifically the inclusion of the former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Kestenbaum spoke on Trump’s behalf at the Republican National Convention over the summer and has become a regular campaigner for the former president.

“I believe that President Trump, by supporting the Anti-Semitism Awareness Act, Title VI protections of the Civil Rights Act, the Abraham Accords and other measures, is the best choice for American Jewry,” Kestenbaum told Jewish Insider in a statement, adding he will not appear at the event:

I will vote for him and continue to make the case for him to moderate and liberal Jewish voters once the polls close.

I also think Tucker Carlson is a dangerous antisemite who has no business in electoral politics. I will continue to call out antisemitism from the far left and the far right. Whether he is right wing or left wing, I will never attend an event with an antisemite.

In a post on X, Kestenbaum clarified that he was “never in serious discussion to speak at MSG.”

Carlson was accused of promoting anti-Semitic tropes. Last summer, the Anti-Defamation League asked Twitter, now X, to reconsider hosting Carlson’s show on its platform.

β€œFor years @TuckerCarlson has slyly woven anti-Jewish conspiracies on his @FoxNews show – attacking George Soros, defaming Paul Singer & making other baseless claims. Now the mask is completely off,” the ADL chief Jonathan Greenblatt POSTED after Carlon’s first episode appeared on the platform.

After listing other examples, Greenblatt concluded: “If @lindayacc wants to attract Fortune 500 advertisers and @elonmusk wants to create a real public market, it might be wise not to give this obvious anti-Semite such a megaphone great. Let Tucker and his men push their hatred elsewhere.”

In recent weeks, Carlson has come under fire for hosting the Holocaust denier Darryl Cooper on his show. Carlson warmed to Cooper during their conversation, calling he “the best and most honest popular historian in the United States.” Cooper used his time with Carlson to rewrite the history of World War II and stated Winston Churchill to be the real villain of the conflict, no Adolf Hitler.
