Two dead, two injured after fight turns into shooting, Corpus Christi police say

Two men were killed and two others were injured early Sunday after a fight led to gunfire outside a club in the 5400 block of South Staples Street, Corpus Christi police said.

Police responded to the scene at 2:37 a.m. and found two deceased gunshot victims, a 20-year-old Hispanic male and a 20-year-old black male, the Corpus Christi Police Department said in a statement of the press.

Two other victims — a 26-year-old Hispanic man and a 31-year-old Hispanic man — went to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Robbery/homicide detectives arrived to investigate the incident and found that a fight between the men in the parking lot led to the shooting, the news release said.

Detectives do not believe this is a random act of violence.

This is an active and ongoing investigation. Detectives encouraged people to contact them at 361-886-2840 if they were at the club during the shooting and have information or video to share.
