The Grand Island Rifle Club is hosting its 32nd Annual Fall Gun Show

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) – Vendors from all over the country came to Grand Island to participate in the annual Grand Island Rifle Fall Gun Show on October 26th and 27th.

A two-day event held at the Pinnacle Expo Center in Fonner Park featured rifles, guns, food, Native American tribal attire and even Vietnam War memorabilia.

Reggie Schmit, president of the Grand Island Rifle Club, said vendors and attendance were up from their previous shows.

“Our vendor count is up 15 percent this year and show entry is up a little over last year’s freckle,” Schmit said.

He also said the gun show brings a big economic boost to the city.

“The economic value, you know, we bring to the community between the rented motels and obviously over 1,500-1,600 people that come through the door of the show itself,” he explained.

Schmit expressed the importance of gun shows because they give buyers an opportunity to purchase firearms and understand gun safety.

He also says he appreciates all the people who attended this year’s show and is looking forward to next year.
