Customs officer accused of exposing his genitals to the police

JAMAL Forde, a 36-year-old customs officer from Providence, East Bank Demerara, was formally charged on Wednesday with several offences, including genital exposure, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

The charges stem from an incident that took place on September 3, 2024, at Sparendaam Police Station.

Forde was arrested on that date and charged under Section 28 (1) (b) of the Sexual Offenses Act, Chapter 8:03, for exposing his genitals to a police officer.
He also faces charges of resisting arrest, contrary to section 28(b) of the Summary Offenses Law, chapter 8:02, and disorderly conduct, in violation of section 136(a) of the same law.

The accused appeared at Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court #2 before Her Majesty Abigail Gibbs where the charges were read to her.

Forde pleaded not guilty to all charges and was granted bail. He was placed on a $60,000 bond for genital exposure, $50,000 for resisting arrest and $50,000 for disorderly conduct.
The case was postponed to December 12, 2024, for the submission of statements.
