APD is seeking the public’s help in locating the north Austin robbery suspect

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Austin Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect wanted in connection with a robbery in north Austin last month.

Officers responded to Rutland Square, 900 Rutland Drive, around 10:20 p.m., Oct. 29, for a report of an aggravated robbery, the agency said in a news release. According to police, the suspect entered the store and asked to buy cigarettes, then pulled out “a black handgun” and demanded cash from the cashier.

Police described that suspect as a white male, who is between 45-50 years old, around 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches, has a thin build and is possibly “transient.”

“He was last seen wearing a black hooded mask, black hoodie, black gloves and black pants,” police said.

Anyone with any information can contact the APD Robbery Unit at 512-974-5092 or submit an anonymous tip via The Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program website.

“A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for any information leading to an arrest,” police said.
